During mine construction, an immense amount of oil-contaminated wastewater is produced. Oily water must be treated for regulatory, environmental, and safety reasons. In addition hydrocarbons are prone to evaporation which causes VOC emissions that are harmful to the environment and to working conditions. Managing oily wastewater with conventional treatment methods is both costly and inefficient.
Surfcleaner oil-water surface separators help solve the problems of oily wastewater for mine operators. Surfcleaner equipment operates continuously to automatically collect and remove nearly 100% of hydrocarbons from water surfaces. By using Surfcleaner systems, mine operators can reuse more process water, reduce wastewater treatment costs, and reduce VOC emissions. The SCO 1000 is a transportable model that can be operated remotely, even in the most hard-to-reach areas. SCO 8000 is a high-capacity process machine, suitable for both underground and surface installations.
Surfcleaner surface separators are also effective for removing hydrocarbons from water in underground oil caverns.
