Continuous removal of floating sludge
Low energy use – as little as a household lightbulb
Stabilize your treatment process
SurfCleaner helps municipal wastewater treatment plants reduce their environmental footprint, minimize manual labour and power use, and minimize the use of process water. Sewage contaminants, as well as wastewater effluent compounds, tend to accumulate sludge in the sedimentation basins.
Nowadays, floating and semi-solid sludge, when treated properly, is seen as a valuable renewable resource. Removing floating sludge will also stabilize your treatment process. The world’s first Skimmer Separator Hybrid SCW 6000 is specially designed to separate floating sludge from wastewater for recycling or safe disposal.

Currently, sludge is managed through manual flushing or being pumped away by vacuum trucks. This requires a considerable amount of water, which can result in the loss of the energy potential of the sludge. If the sludge can be collected without water, the water treatment plant can instead convert it to bioenergy and take advantage of phosphorus and minimize operation stoppages, operation costs, energy and chemical use.
SurfCleaner has a patented technology that collects and separates the sludge in an energy-efficient way – this will enable a significant increase in bioenergy from municipal waste streams. This technology will now be validated as a complete system that can be integrated into existing wastewater treatment plants around the world.
